THIS Is Toronto

Angel and Izzy relax, Buster sits by the door staring at us with that burning stare of his, while we try to enjoy our morning coffee.
He wins, we quickly finish our java and pull some clothes on to take the perro’s out. The very first person we meet startles us with a loud “Happy Canada Day”.
As we reach the crosswalk at Dundas heading for a park, a large black women rolls down her car window and loudly yells “Happy Canada Day”. Marilyn and I are both visibly touched. A street car with a large Canadain flag flapping off the back goes by. The city is just starting to awake, but already you can tell today is different.
This would be my 67th Canada day, and I am proudly Canadian, but this is the first ever time where I have experienced this much spontaneous enthusiam and patriotism in Canada.

When we travel we see huge patriotism in the US and to a lesser degree Mexico. We have even picked up on it in China. But never to this extent in Canada.
We needed a trip to this massive city of diversity, filled with people from all over this planet to learn something about being Canadian.
Happy Canada Day everyone, and thanks Toronto.
