Lets clear up the confusion. You are still you and I’m still me. This is the same old blog, just trying on a different outfit. Seems to me to be close to the right size, not too long in the legs. Maybe it makes my ass look a little t0o fat, but then, have you seen my ass lately? Speaking of fat, it fits pretty good around the middle.

It still requires some work: The picture in the header will be one ours, we need to widen some of the columns, stuff like that. It still has the comments section that I love so much. I don’t always reply but I do read all your comments.

In fact here’s your chance. Look it all over, let me know what you think. Let’s not forget that “comments section”. Fire away, tell me what you think. What do you like? What’s not working?

I borrowed a bit of this article from RVBusiness.com. They are quoting the folks from Statistical Surveys Inc., a group that does a lot of work for the RV industry, and talking about the future price of oil.

Have a read:

It is interesting that once again the oil traders are looking for a run up in oil prices, Statistical Surveys Inc. General Manager Tom Walworth tells RVBUSINESS.com and RVBusiness magazine, for which the Grand Rapids, Mich,-based executive generates periodic policy statements.

We are currently looking at a very similar pace as we had in late 2007 and all of 2008. If you remember the stories in 2008, the world was running out of oil. The developing nations were using supply that they had not used in the past and this, we were told, justified the run up in fuel prices.

Yet, if you take a look at the accompanying graph, we started December of 2007 at a national average price of $3.11 per gallon. In January we went to $3.15 per gallon and by July we were at $4.16. Curiously, in December of 2010 the price for a gallon of gas was $3.11 per gallon. The January 2011 price was $3.14 per gallon.

Does this look familiar?

Still have your interest? You can read the full article here

What do you think? Are we back on that roller coaster? Do we have a choice?

We had a sneak peek at this one when it was in progress a couple of weeks ago. We’ve been here on Stone Island for over a week now and we are getting all settled in, that means time to paint. And that means another finished work

Girlfriend and neighbor Bonnie was the first to see the completed work. She also got to see the paint all over Marilyn, As I understand it she was impressed with both the painting and the “makeup”.

I admit it, mine is awful. I try, I’ve been to “adult education” classes, bought the CD’s. I might even buy ROSETTA STONE, I’ve tried their demos and am quite sure it would help. I think it all comes down to time. Anyway, all this to introduce a new feature of the amazing vanstones. At no aditional cost to you (as they say in Mexico, “Almost Free today”) we have added a feature called Spanish Word of the Day.

Scroll down abit, look to the left column. See it? Imagine, a new word everyday. Yesterday I learned Taza, the day before Servilleta (cup and serviette) Oops, forgot today’s. Oh well, look left, play the recording a few times……. it’s all good.

Just think; a word a day, 365 days a year. I’ll be public speaking down here by the time I reach 90. Or I could just buy the downloads behind this one and start years sooner.

Memory Loss, that’s something that I am learning to live with on a daily, no hourly, basis. I’m guessing that maybe you may know someone else who notices minor lapse in memory. It seems we all have a share of mental or memory lapses.

If you read this page at all regularily you may note a huge lapse in posts. I haven’t been posting as regularily since we came back to work and the rest of the real world, but I have been trying to keep you up to date. But over the weekend our server (the computer where all this drivel resides) had a power surge and it too lost a chunk of it’s memory. Fortunately for me Jason had backed up in early May so we have that, but whatever nuggets of wisdom I wrote between then and now are gone.

Obviously, I need to remember to learn how to back up my blogs myself. and then I need to remember to do it.

As you probably know this page is hosted, designed and administered by my artistic son Jason, in fact he would be happy to do the same for you if you wish. It’s not as wild as the first edition we had this afternoon but I think has some real possibilities. Imagine ta beautiful Mexican beach or something behind the print. For sure we will all have to agree, my website will be unique. I look forward to your comments here or email me at vanstones@vstone.ca
