Signs Of Spring

The Official Sign Of SpringNow it’s official. You could truly call this one tradition. During the warmer seasons it’s not completely uncommon for us to get together with our friends and neighbors Glen and Cheryl for a cool one after work. This shot was taken Tuesday on a 24 degree afternoon (mid 70′s make more sense?). The conversation was excellent as was the beverage. Can Summer be far behind?

I was thinking I should start a category called “Beer”. However, as you know I always take the upper road. Note the new category: Humm, strange Beverage is capitalized, food is not. Conincidence?

Signs of Spring

So the dogs and I stopped at Jordan Nurseries to pick up Pansies and Primula. We rushed home and planted them.
I couldn’t decide: A picture of the beautiful planted flowers or the dirt covered fingers that planted them?
Let’s face it, Everybody does flower pictures.

Signs of Spring

So first of all, a couple of weeks ago I saw my first robin of the season. No, not that kind of robin, this kind. Then this Monday I noticed a real sign of spring, road kill and lots of it. Every where! On the drive from home to work (about 10 minutes) I saw the remains of a couple of racoons, a cat and a rabbit.

Yesterday I watched a couple of school girls make their way home. One was wearing her winter coat and boots. Her friend though was wearing a summer top and shorts with 2 skinny white posts of legs sticking out underneath. Then this morning I saw the ultimate, the “Wow, spring is really here” sign: a fly. Even as we speak it’s approaching 18 degrees (about 70 f) and as soon as I finish this post I too will shed my long legged pants, and expose my extremely white knees. No snickering please. We all must do our part. It’s the Canadian way you know.
