Invasion Of The Killer Mosquitos

June 20th, 2010

Last night was the perfect  night to sit around outside. It was warm with a bit of a breeze, a great opportunity to show off our week old fire pit. So I spread the word, “the Vanstones are having a fire”. You can see the group has started to build here and over the next half hour we were joined by a few more folk.

Then suddenly the breeze died and the local mosquito gang jumped into action. Everyone one of us are  adding hand movements to our conversation, apparently to make our point. Then everybody is suddenly smackin and itchin, almost in unison.  No problem, we have mosquito repellant; we dig out a bottle of Bye Bye left over from last winter in Mexico. The bugs reorganized, capture the repellant and whisk it away where it can do them no harm.

Minutes later, every human being at the gathering downs their drink, grabs their chair, makes their goodbyes and runs for it.

Fortunately no lives were lost.
