Somethings Never Change

I remember back when I was 6 or 7 when they were rebuilding the Trans Canada Highway past our home  near Kamloops, BC. I mention this because my memory is of trucks, tractors, graders and loaders working their way through all these little sticks that showed where they needed to set the grade to successfully complete their construction.

Fast forward almost 60 years and they are adding to the RV sites at 50 Point.  What do you see? I see trucks, tractors, graders and loaders working their way through this maze of little sticks. Isn’t that amazing; In this age of electronics, cell phones, GPS and lazers, the construction industry still keeps a place in it’s heart for little painted sticks.

There are somethings different though. The workers now all wear fluorescent T-shirts and, not all the workers are guys.
