Greetings and halucinations from the heart of the county of Sonoma, Santa Rosa, California. We are back in rolling hills, big blue sky and warmer temperatures. More importantly, we are back in shorts and it feels so good.
The Sonoma valley is home to over 80 wineries and if that’s not enough, we are near the Napa valley. We also about an hour from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
We are staying at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds RV Park. What attracted us to it is that it’s basically a large, flat gravel parking lot with big sites and services. After a couple of weeks in the Coastal forests with lots of rain and clouds big, flat and lot’s of sky are kind of attractive.
We are also here because we are trying to save some money and this is a Passport America park which offers some half price camping.
We were Passport America members years ago and found that, when we were in the States it worked well for us and saved us a bunch of money. We let it go it go because we apparently had way too much money anyway and hey, it’s meant to go around right?
Anyway, we picked the membership up again, have now used it 3 times and the membership is paid for. From here on in, we can take the savings from any Passport Parks we stay at and add them to the vino budget.
If this all seems to you like a cheap advertisement for Passport America, you are so right. If you want to check it out, click here or on the Passport display add on the right side bar. If you decide to buy through our referral we get a free month’s membership. And that would mean we would have even more money for the vino and you know we share.
