Makes You Think

Both the motorhome and the truck gt a little beat up in that construction in Saskatchewan. Every comparment in the basement of the coach is dusty and there is tar down both sides. On the truck I’m finding gravel all over it, as well as a broken fog light and a huge crack in the windshield. We did more damage to our vehicles on that 50 mile chunk of Saskatchewan construction road then the thousands of miles we did in Mexico all last winter!

A good friend of ours in Langley, Karl Hibbs,  is a glass installer, so while we were in the area we asked for his expertise. Here’s the part that makes you go hmmm? We have glass insurance on all our vehicles, but in an effort to keep the premiums down we start with a $300 deductible. Karl charged us $250 for the whole windshield replacement job.  I wonder what we actually pay for glass insurance. I also wonder why?

Makes you think though right? We just automatically do what we’ve always done. Maybe we need to be a little more selective, like maybe glass nsurance only on the motorhome. Count on it, when I redo the vehicle insurance next spring this time I will ask some questions.
