Today we pack up. We say our goodbyes to Pensacola Beach. Tomorrow we roll. Not far down the road but down the road none the less. We are excited already. We’ve had fun here but did I mention the weather?
We’ve discovered a few things about ourselves in our 5 weeks here. First of all, in our minds at least, 5 weeks in one place is a long time. Five weeks in a beach town in the middle of winter surrounded by frozen beach bars is a really long time.
For four of the five weeks, other than the odd “hello” from a neighbor running to get out of the cold, it’s been Marilyn and Larry, together again 24/7. We’ve always thought we were pretty tight but our experience here has only made us tighter. Since we’ve been here, we’ve discussed topics never discussed in now 34 years.
There is no question, Pensacola beach will always stand out in the memories of our travels. We absolutely love the white sugar sand beaches, the “historic” downtown and we will never forget the Naval Museum.
And we thank the Spicy Boys and the Deakins for reminding us how important good friends are.
Here, in pictures, is most of 5 weeks
