At least we hope it’s this week. If we get into our coach this Thursday, and thats the current plan, it will mean that my sweety has been waiting onlyabout 10 weeks to get into her new home. She is truly a patient woman.

Whe had a bit of a delay when the previous owners had a small health issue, so there went a couple of weeks, then the coach sat in the yard at Sicard’s waiting to get into service to get prepped (we are busy) Finally it seems my “To Do” list for the techs was a little longer than usual (it is going to be our home right) and then last week, as the time drew nearer, it was either we got our coach on time or a customer got theirs. Guess who won?

Anyway, everything looks on track for this Thursday afternoon.

Now I’m thinking maybe we should have gone for this one.

It’s been at least a year since Marilyn and I have been for a run and I have the belly to prove it.

My son Darren and his wife Sherry run a bit and have been raving about their new Nike Free running shoes. I’ve been thinking for months I need to do something and maybe these new shoes would be the ticket to get me back at it. So a couple of weeks ago, in a true reversal of roles, Darren took me out to help me buy me a new pair of shoes.

So if I have new shoes, then it’s only fair that Marilyn has new shoes. Yesterday morning, both proudly wearing our new skins, Mar & I headed out on a sort of run around the park. It felt good, we both enjoyed it and for our first trip out in over a year, we both did pretty good. Now we just have to get in the habit of doing it again and again.

Gotta Run

A week or so ago I told you that our new home was getting closer to being ours. I even showed you pictures of the inside. I’m sticking to that story. Albeit slowly, it is moving ever closer to being ours. Yesterday it finally made it into the shop to begin the inspection process and add the goodies like the satellite dish, satellite radio, surge protector, solar panel, built in vacuum, and more.

The original plan was that it would all be done and we would be moving in by September third or so. Maybe if we all cross our fingers together we can get it done by that date.

All together now…

Last Wednesday night we had a dinner date with our daughter Pam, her squeeze James and his mother Cindy. They chose 50 Point to announce that on a recent trip to New York City they were engaged. We are thrilled, in our eyes she couldn’t have picked a better guy! She did good, she also got a great mother-in-law in the deal.

The ring they chose as an engagement band used to be my mother’s and it couldn’t have looked more beautiful. We both congratulate their more frugal nature. Could be Pam got that from her Mom & Dad. As we cruise in to our 30th anniversary I am reminded almost daily that I still owe Marilyn an engagement ring.

They planning a September 2011 wedding and we are looking forward to it.

Meet Annette. She receives all the new and used inventory at Sicard’s and makes sure that all the paperwork is in order. In this picture she is holding a set of keys to a certain Camelot motor home. You guessed it, these are the keys to the coach we have been dreaming about since way back in early June. It’s not ours yet, that date is still a couple of weeks away, but it is here. We can touch it. We can even sit in it if we choose.

Sit in it and drool. We did good.

It only seems like years!

We’ve been working on trading up to a little bigger motorhome since the house sold in early June and we’ve had our name on this one since a week or two after that. Friday afternoon, I’m sitting on my golf cart composing an email to a customer and look what pulls in.

I hadn’t seen this particular motorhome before but I had been in and out of many similar coaches, some a year newer, some a year or two older, or a couple of feet shorter. I knew exactly what to expect. Not so for Marilyn, I had got her into a couple of similar ones, so she only had an idea what this one would be like. the good news is”she is H A P P Y!”

We are probably still about 3 weeks away from moving in, it needs to be imported into Canada, serviced and then add a few goodies that we want, but at least we have seen it, touched it and know for sure that it will all come together.

We are going to love this one!

What is it you say? OK, It’s a 2006 40 PDQ Monaco Camelot . The color is Saddleback and it’s loaded.

The ceiling is turquoise, and plastic. They painted the cherry wood cabinets black, but missed some so you can see the original wood in spots. They added lean-to’s to the sides and changed the 4 power slides to tip outs that you move in and out by hand with the help of your neighbors. They added patio doors and the big old kitchen table seats about 20. The floor tiles are broken and the carpet is ripped, God knows what happened there. The place has never been cleaned up. Generally, it is a “piece of shit” but we bought it anyway.

All this according to my creative, over active minded wife, created during her sleep after we got a call last night that our future home, the one we’ve been waiting to see since some time in May is now only a few days away.

We expect to see and touch our new home early next week. Stay tuned. If it’s what we think it is there will be pictures.

If not…., we’ll deal with that if we get there.

We met Bob & Marjorie last winter at Tres Amigos on Isla de la Piedra. Turns out their home is in Toronto, about 45 minutes from 50 Point, where we summer. Over the course of the winter we shared a few cool ones, hung around a bit and became very good friends. We travelled out of Mexico together and have got together 3 or 4 times since we got back.

This weekend we were invited to their “Summer Cottage”, on an island (called Robert’s Island) near Honey Harbour north of Toronto.

Some Cottage! And what a fun weekend!
