True Love Ways

When we last talked we were fasting, waiting not so patiently for our 9:30 medical appointments.
We parted company at the stairs you see above. We hugged, promised to stay in touch and said our goodbyes, then Marilyn went down stairs to her appointment, I went upstairs to mine.
Sometime later we joyfully rendezvoused at a romantic fluorescent lit table accross the street at Tim Hortons. Marilyn had an extra large coffee and a toasted cinamon & raisin bagel with cream cheese. I chose a small coffee and a lemon & poppy seed muffin. We remembered old times, then caught up on all that had happened to each of us over the past 30 long minutes.
You will never guess what happened after that.

After going home to pick up the kids, we headed over to our storage bin and hopefully emptied it for the last time. We have decided to sell our tandem bicycle. The first couple of years travelling we used it a bit, the last couple though it has spent all of it’s life in storage. We love it, we’ve had a lot of fun with it, but in our use or lose it lifestyle it just doesn’t fit in anymore. I’m not sure what it’s worth, I’m working on that. It’s a good one, we paid $3500 for it 6 or 7 years ago and that was a deal. The bike is in great shape. Please spread the word.

Meanwhile, on another website way over on the other side of the internet we learn a new language. Join us as we learn RV speak

Just Like Riding A Bike

Our tandem bike has spent at least the last couple of years resting in our recently vacated storage facility so when we took it out we promised ourselves we were either going to ride it or we were going to sell it.
Today was the day: Our first chance to head out for a ride.
We loved it, we missed it, we’ll do a lot more of it and this fall when we leave for the south we’ll be carrying it again.

New Shoes

It’s been at least a year since Marilyn and I have been for a run and I have the belly to prove it.

My son Darren and his wife Sherry run a bit and have been raving about their new Nike Free running shoes. I’ve been thinking for months I need to do something and maybe these new shoes would be the ticket to get me back at it. So a couple of weeks ago, in a true reversal of roles, Darren took me out to help me buy me a new  pair of shoes.

So if I have new shoes, then it’s only fair that Marilyn has new shoes. Yesterday morning, both proudly wearing our new skins, Mar & I headed out on a sort of run around the park. It felt good, we both enjoyed it and for our first trip out in over a year, we both did pretty good. Now we just have to get in the habit of doing it again and again.
