By the seat of my pants

I’m not at all sure how this is going to turn out!

Usually, when I sit down to blog I have a plan (or at least an idea) of what I’m going to say. But not this time. This time I’ve uploaded (or maybe I downloaded, I’m never quite sure which)  a group of unrelated pictures, opened my  page and started to bang on the keyboard.

You could say that I’m flying by the seat of my pants. Anyway, here goes:

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you can consider this first picture old news. No, not fake news, that’s the other guys thing, this one is old news. I chose this picture to start for two reasons

  1. It’s recent, I took it earlier this week.
  2. I’m really proud of the shot and the edit.

They call the waterfall Decew Falls and the building is pure historic Niagara called Morningstar Mills. There are lots of trails heading out from there and so we often visit here when we are hiking. A hundred years ago they harnessed the water coming over the falls to power a mill for grain and a sawmill.

In fact it’s such a popular spot with the Vanstones that we have a painting hanging in our dining room, same site, different angle and weather. Can you guess the name of the famous artist who created this masterpiece?

Speaking of painting. She’s doing it again. That woman is never happy unless her clothing is decorated in pieces of thread or she has brightly colored paint dabbed on her nose. She just started this one:

This is going to be painting of an Inukshuk. this shot is taken in her studio. The sign on the door says Studio”M”

Hark! I hear the “Happy Hour Bell”. I must cease this drivel and move on with my life.

But just before I do; if you know me at all, you know I have a fetish for bathrooms. I have dozens of pictures of strange-looking toilets, unique urinals and bathroom signs. We met friends John and Colette the other night at a new-to-us pub in St Catharines called the Wooden Nickel. The beer was good, so was the food and the service but I thought the bathroom door signs were different. That and they have a picture of a cuddly looking Beaver in the men’s.
