And here we are in the Civic RV park in Altona, Manitoba. Here to visit our buds, Glen & Myrna before we do the last 900 miles before we reach Edmonton for a week or so with family and friends.
Just a heads up: At American customs in Port Huron on sunday we were moved into the “Secondary Inspection” line. The dogs and I had to stay out of the building but Marilyn looked really cute in there between a couple of hippies left over from Woodstock and a half dozen Arab gentlemen.
Seems we were transporting dangerous and subversive vegetables. You need to be careful of those Ontario tomatoes and be especially careful with the worst of them all, Bell Peppers. As I said to the customs officer as he went by, those were probably the best tomatoes we have had all year.
Yep gotta watch those terrorist vegetables. Glad to hear all is going well. 2 more sleeps for us!
Read my next blog! Remember the tomatoes and peppers I had to give up in July. So you are back in Canada, eh!
PS//My home grown tomatoes are the best!
Did the RV park make you unhook because even though they have pull throughs you can;t drive in hooked up???
On Heads up issues crossing into the states:
Seems American Custom Officers don’t like our veggies….we got stopped bcuz the zucchinis could have had parasites. The Agri agent, after visual inspection, actually apologized for the unnecessary delay, but suggested leaving our fresh fruits and veggies in Ontario!!!!
A trip before that, we had to dump grapes.
Last year on crossing from Alberta into Montana, they questioned us about the “hemp oil” content in the bag of cat food!!!
You and Pat sure keep your hemp products in funny places
